Organisations are rich in
possibilities waiting to be
realised.
What will you do with yours?
Team
If Individuals are the foundations of Organisations then Teams are its building blocks. All teams are unique and yet share similar patterns or dynamics. The dynamics that are generated within teams are often obscured from team members who create them. Raising team awareness
to these patterns and then to the individuals’ role in creating or perpetuating them is key to improving performance.
Team Formation
Integrating new members into a team or forming a new team raises questions for individuals about acceptability, power, purpose and commitment. Addressing these questions overtly allows the team, individually and collectively, to determine how they will work most effectively in the future. In addition they develop the skills of generatively resolving tensions as they arise.
Team Development
Successful, highly performing teams share several characteristics that mark them out from average teams. They demonstrate individual and mutual accountability; they share a common purpose and are committed to achieving specific goals through a common approach; they are skilled at problem solving, interpersonal relationships and the technical demands of the task.
Interpersonal Communication
Nowhere does individual difference show itself more than through the ways we choose to communicate and the many ways we misinterpret what is said. Developing the skills of Reflection, Advocacy and Inquiry, team members learn to make their thinking available to each other in a way that allows their collective intelligence to increase rather than reduce as it often does.
Visioning and Reflecting
Having a clear and shared picture of what lies ahead is the binding agent that holds a team together. A sense of purpose is greatly increased when it is co-constructed by the team members themselves. Using visual facilitation methods we support the development of compelling visions and,
importantly, reflect on the past as a significant but not determining influence on the future.
